Garage and porch roofs in the bid: separate planes that still need a price

Westfield, Cranford, and Maplewood houses often attach a garage or porch roof that is not in the main square count. Leaving those planes off the bid creates a second negotiation mid-job. The decision is whether every attached roof plane is measured and priced before you sign.

Attached does not mean included
A garage behind the house or a porch wrap can be a different pitch and material. Ask for squares on each labeled plane, not only the street facade.
Low-slope porches need their own system
If the porch is below shingle pitch limits, price membrane there even when the main house stays asphalt. Mixing systems without naming them is how scopes drift.
What a complete site sketch shows
Main house, garage, porch, and any breezeway, each with pitch notes. A Maplewood or Westfield bid without those labels is easy to under-compare.
