Typical New Jersey roof cost ranges (estimates only)

Homeowners often ask for a ballpark before an inspection. Published industry ranges help set expectations, but they are not quotes from Ultra Power Construction. Your price depends on roof size, pitch, layers removed, access, and materials.

What published ranges usually cover
National and Northeast contractor guides commonly describe full asphalt-shingle replacements in broad bands (often roughly mid four figures to low five figures for many suburban homes). Those figures are planning estimates only. They usually assume a standard architectural asphalt system, not tile, metal, or complex custom work.
Cost drivers that move a North Jersey price
Square footage, steep pitches, multiple layers to tear off, ice-and-water detailing at eaves and valleys, chimney and skylight flashing, and disposal fees all change the number. Historic homes and dense lots can add staging and protection time. Always compare written scopes, not phone ballparks.
How to use an estimate responsibly
Treat public ranges as a conversation starter. Ask for an on-roof inspection, itemized materials and labor, warranty terms, and permit handling. Ultra Power provides free written estimates after seeing the roof; we do not publish a fixed town price because roofs are not identical.
