Lifted tabs, missing ridge caps, and bent drip edge are the usual marks. High-wind installation is a fastening pattern and a sealed starter, not a thicker shingle by itself. Ask which pattern the scope uses.

Scaffold, roof jacks, and material hoists take time that a driveway job does not. If the downhill side drops off, ground protection and tie-offs belong in the price. Leaving them out makes a low number that grows on day one.

A walkable ranch and a steep Palisades roof are different production rates. Compare written scopes: underlayment, ice-and-water at eaves, edge metal, and how many stories need protection below.
