Large colonials in Franklin Lakes, Wyckoff, and similar Bergen towns are often specified with a designer architectural shingle. The profile is a choice you make after the tear-off and flashing plan, not before.

A 3-tab shingle is a thin, repeating tab. A luxury laminate is thicker and less regular. The luxury shingle does not forgive a short nail or a reused flashing. Compare installed systems, not swatches.
Color on a big roof
A dark roof on a large colonial shows every stain and every mismatched repair. Order from one run when you can, and expect weathering. A repair five years later will not disappear.
Weight, warranty, and ventilation
Heavier shingles ask more of the deck you just uncovered. Manufacturer warranties have ventilation and installation conditions. Read them. Ultra Power’s workmanship warranty is a separate document from the shingle maker’s limited warranty.
